Aventura, incorporated in 1995, is one of Miami-Dade’s newest communities and this young, vibrant city is becoming recognized as a premier location in which to live, play or shop. The city’s economic base has grown dramatically from 1996/97’s taxable values of $2.6 billion to an estimated $4.7 billion in 2003/04. In addition to the Aventura Mall, there are several other shopping areas and retail plazas, including Loehmann’s Fashion Island. Millions of dollars have been spent on the Aventura’s infrastructure improvements and beautification projects, including new parks, sidewalks, improved lighting and drainage, and safety features. There is a new state-of-the art Government Center plus a 25,000 square foot Community/Recreation Center in a park-like setting on the waterfront.
The first municipal run charter school in Miami - Dade County has been opened to meet the educational needs of families with younger children, grades K through 8.

Aventura is 12 miles north of Miami, 12 miles south of Fort Lauderdale and only one mile from some of South Florida’s finest beaches. It is conveniently located on the Intracoastal Waterway between two major airports. It has an upscale condominium community with some of the best known, large scale condo projects in the state.
